In 1987, ÖZTÜRK CAN, who worked as a midwife and nurse after graduating from Health Vocational High School, graduated from Hacettepe University School of Nursing in 1992. During her undergraduate education, she worked as a midwife in Ankara SSK Etlik Maternity Hospital, and after her university education, she worked as a teacher at Malatya’ Health Vocational High School and as a lecturer at Fırat University Health Services Vocational High School and School of Health. She completed her master's degree at Ege University Institute of Health Sciences, Institute of Women's Health and Diseases, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing in 2000 and her doctorate in the same department in 2006. At the same time, she completed her master's degree in Family Counselling programme at E.U. Institute of Social Sciences. Since 2001, she has been working at Ege University İzmir Atatürk School of Health as an Ar. Gör, Lecturer, Assist. Assoc. and then served as Assoc. at E.U. Faculty of Health Sciences between 2011-2024 and since November 2024, she has been appointed as Prof. at the same faculty. Her research interests include midwifery, midwifery education, women's health and diseases, obstetrics and postnatal care, reproductive health and concepts and theories in midwifery. In addition, she is one of the founders of the Midwifery Education Research and Development Association (EBEARGE) and has been the chairman of the board of directors of the association for two terms and is still a member of the board of directors of the association. She is also a member of many professional associations. Hafize Öztürk CAN, who has publications in international and national journals and translation book editorships, is currently working as Prof. at Ege University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Midwifery. She has served as Vice Chair of the Department, Chair of the Department and A.D. She has served as Vice Head of Department, Head of Department, Head of A.D. and Vice Dean and has been serving in many commissions in the university and faculty.
