Prof. Dr. Emine Gerçek Öter was born in 1979 in Çan, Çanakkale. After completing her primary, secondary and high school education here, she completed her undergraduate education at Ege University in 2002. She worked at Ege University Hospital Gastroenterology Intensive Care Clinic between 2002-2004 and at Aydın Adnan Menderes University Hospital Anaesthesia, Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery Intensive Care Clinics between 2004-2005. In 2005, after completing her master's degree in Dokuz Eylül University Institute of Health Sciences, Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing programme, she worked as a research assistant at Ege University Faculty of Nursing between 2006-2011 within the scope of the faculty member training programme and completed her doctorate in Ege University Institute of Health Sciences, Department of Women's Health and Diseases Nursing in 2011. Between 2011-2012, Gerçek Öter worked as a doctor research assistant at Aydın Adnan Menderes University Aydın School of Health, and was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2012 and Associate Professor in 2017. Since 2017, Gerçek Öter has been working at Aydın Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Nursing and has been working as a Professor since 2023. She served as the Director of Vocational School between 2015-2021, Deputy Coordinator of Vocational Schools of Aydın Adnan Menderes University between 2015-2017, Deputy Director of Aydın Adnan Menderes University Women and Family Studies Application and Research Centre between 2018-2019, Director of Aydın Adnan Menderes University Disaster and Emergency Application and Research Centre between 2018-2023 and Director of Aydın Adnan Menderes University Women and Family Studies Application and Research Centre between 2018-2023. Prof. Dr. Emine Gerçek Öter has 75 international and national articles, more than 100 international and national oral/poster presentations, two book editorships, more than 20 international and national book chapters, two TÜBİTAK, one DPT project and one Koç Foundation project. Gerçek Öter is one of the two academicians who established the first academician company within the scope of TUBITAK BIGG techno capital venture project in Turkey. She is currently the Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing at Aydın Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Nursing.
